COUNSELLING
Counselling is a process which takes place in a private and confidential setting, to explore a difficulty you may be having. You may be experiencing grief or distress, or perhaps just a general feeling of dissatisfaction with life, or loss of sense of direction and purpose. These issues may present themselves in the form of panic attacks, depression, anger, eating disorders, sadness, anxiety, isolation, inability to communicate successfully in relationships, repetitious or inappropriate social behaviour.
Counselling enables individuals to visualise their choices and options open to them which in turn helps to reduce the confusion, the feeling of being stuck and the lack of forward momentum.
Counsellors are trained to be able to accept your feelings without being burdened by them. Counsellors do not give advice, do not judge and do not exploit their clients in any way. As the counsellor only has a therapeutic relationship with you, it is not diluted with past history of family knowledge. Therefore it is very much a relationship based on the "here and now", and the future.
